At the heart of our teaching is

The Check-In Method of Management

The Check-In Method

The Check-In Method of Management empowers leaders to build strong, caring relationships with their people to improve performance and retention.

Our program teaches managers how to both keep their people AND unlock their full potential.

At the heart of the methodology is having the conversations that matter most with each person.

Through these interactions, leaders can stay on top of what’s really happening with their people to provide the support and encouragement they need to succeed.

The methodology requires managers to learn and master the mindsets and skills of the 7 Cs.

The 7 Cs of The Check-In Method

Commitment

A great manager is vital to employee performance and well-being. Being a great manager takes focused effort, with explicit and transparent commitments.

Cultivation

Cultivation is a mindset shift from traditional production-based management to a human-centered approach. This empowers managers to believe in the innate potential and motivation of their people.

Clarity

Clarity is the rocket fuel of performance. Managers who reduce uncertainty and define the “what and how” of work build loyal, high-performing teams and foster healthy, accountable relationships.

Care

Great managers care about each person as an individual, investing in their success at work and beyond through compassion, appreciation, and shared accountability.

Coaching

Consistent performance requires guidance and encouragement. Great managers understand that their role is to help employees develop to be better equipped and motivated to achieve their goals.

Connection

Employees who feel connected to their manager and peers are more productive and engaged. Leading teams where each person feels included and connected is vital to unlocking performance.

Conversation

At the heart of being a great manager is the ability to have important conversations. Asking the right questions and listening skillfully is key to meeting employee needs and enabling their success.

“The BEST leadership program I’ve participated in during my 35 years of leadership.

I wish this was available to me decades ago! I enjoyed the simple, no-fluff training modules, and easily applicable techniques.”

“It was a total eye-opener for me.

Previously I thought being a good manager was pretty much a matter of using common sense. Since taking the course I approach issues at work very differently than before, and I notice in practice how effective some of the course tools and techniques are.”
